What Dorlita Thinks About

I never pulled any of my kids teeth as their growing up. My grandmother pulled out all of their baby teeth. She is no longer with us, so she can’t pull anymore teeth, and I have one kid left whose teeth will need to be pulled out one day. She still has a few years to go though.

Today I pulled out my first tooth. My 8 year old was complaining about a tooth that had been bothering her for about a week or so. It was slightly loose and  I figured I would have to take her to the dentist eventually. I was dreading that. This morning she came to me and the little tooth was wiggling but I still did not think it was going to come out. I gave her some Motrin and let her go. That’s all she wanted and she went on to eat her pancakes and sausage for breakfast.

Later on she came into my room and said that she and her brother were trying to pull out the tooth but they couldn’t get it to come out. I decided to have a little courage and asked her if she wanted me to pull it out. Like I really know what I’m doing. I reached in an pulled once it didn’t come out. I was going to stop but something said try it again. So I wrapped a piece of tissue around it and I pulled again. It popped out! I was totally shocked. I just pulled a tooth.

Now she’s going to want to put this tooth under her pillow for the toothfairy to come. Dang! I just set myself up. You know kids her age don’t just want change anymore. They want the green money. Now I have to play toothfairy too! But I am so excited. Really? Why? I don’t know, cause I just pulled my first tooth! Yeah baby!!!! Supermom!
