Lessons Learned About Working From Home

One lesson I am learning is boundaries. I work full time outside of my home and then come home and work my business. I also work my business on the days that I am off from my full time job. I have to learn how to schedule my time so that I am not constantly working all of the time. I have 3 small children ages 12, 7, and 19 months. I have to be able to still spend time with them and find fun things for us to do as a family. They also help me with my candle business by making samples and putting information packets together. They have fun helping me and it gets them involved, it make them feel like they have an important role in the business. We are also spending time together.

But there are times when they cannot help me like during the times I make phone calls, read and respond to emails and advertise online. I also have to have the special time that I should spend with my husband. He understands that this is my career and that I have to work it to be successful, but at the same time I cannot neglect him. I must plan to have days that I will not work just like having days off at my regular day job. Plus I need the small breaks to relax and recuperate from working all day. It will keep me sane and not leave me stressed out or over worked. I will be planning days that I will not be working and just spending time with my family and making sure that they and myself stay happy. It will all make for a better balanced life in the long run.
