People who swallow objects
So I am watching the tv show “Untold stories of the E.R.” On this show is a woman who is handcuffed to the hospital bed and has a cop with her. I guess she was brought in because she was swallowing objects. As I keep watching I find out she has swallowed some toothbrushes, not one toothbrush but several. While still handcuffed to this bed she also manages to get hold of a battery and down it goes. What would make a person want to just swallow objects like that? And she is just as happy as she can be. She does this like it is a game. The doctors try to go down her throat and remove the toothbrushes and batteries but are unable to do so. Now she has to go into surgery and be cut open and have the stuff removed. This is not the first time for her and she has had to be cut open before. I find out that she has a psychiatric disorder and it causes her to do these things. She has to be transferred to the psych ward for further evaluation. This causes me to be curious and now I want to look up information on people who swallow foreign objects and materials.
