Potty Training Mission
So I am in the stages of potty training my 2 year old daughter. I have been at it since last November. I have two older kids and for what I can remember it was never this difficult to potty train them. There have been periods when she would go regularly and tell me when she needed to potty #1 and #2 and we were on a roll. But when the older kids got out of school for summer vacation she took a step backwards. She would still for a short time go to the potty to pee but that was it, no more #2 it landed in the pull up. Now she won’t go at all unless I make her it all goes into the pull ups like shes wearing a diaper. I have tried everything. I have sung the potty song, congratulated her when she did use the potty, given her treats, bought training panties even chastised her when she pottied in her pull up. You name it I have tried it. She just will not go unless I make her just sit on the toilet when I feel she should have to go. I don’t know why this one is so hard to train. The trick of it is I know she knows when she has to go because when ever we go out somewhere she will tell me she has to go to the potty and will not stop telling me she has to use it until I take her. She just won’t do it at home. I think it is because she is playing with her sister and her brother and you know how they play and forget about anything else. I am sticking to my training and the kids are going back to school next week and hopefully she will get the ball rolling again with this. She is a smart little cookie too, she knows what she is doing. She told me that she liked Tinkerbell and I asked her if I bought her Tinkerbell underwear would she got to the potty, she said yes. I went out the very next day and purchased a pack of Tinkerbell panties that she picked out. We got home and I put a pair of them on her and she went to the potty all that day. That night was the end of it she pee’d in her Tinkerbells. Needless to say that was the end of that good potty day. We have made it through the alphabets, colors and numbers since I have been home with her so she learns and speaks very well for a child her age. I thank God for being able to be here at home with her to teach her and watch her grow. It is truly a blessing.
But in saying all that I want to know for you the people if you have any suggestions or tips that maybe I have not thought about that I can use to push her along. Please I will try just about anything now to help her out. I’m a mommy on a mission.
